Built For Love II. - PRASAT HIN PHIMAI- Master of Ceremony recommends for U
This temple was built in the 11th century and is an important historical site, but the legend that surrounds it is a tale of love for the ages. A young prince, Padjitt, was travelling in search of a wife when he met a pregnant widow. Unable to marry her, Padjitt promised himself to her unborn daughter, Orapima, who grew up and fell in love with the prince. When an evil prince kidnapped Orapima, Padjitt rescued her but was killed by another man who was also enchanted by Orapima’s beauty. Heartbroken, Orapima built a sanctuary where she sculpted and painted scenes of her love for Padjitt on the walls. One day, a man began crying when he looked at the paintings and Orapima recognised Padjitt’s spirit within him. They lived together happily, and the town where they resided was renamed Pee Mah, meaning, ‘You’ve come back’.
One of the best things you can do to make your special someone’s day truly memorable is by taking her to some of the most romantic spots around the world. What makes these places so love-spiked, though, is not just its natural beauty and landscape; the buildings created by the greatest architects of their time also played its part—and it did it well!
